Nammo now offers a unique opportunity for candidates with significant operations management experience to assume a key role in our business unit Small and Medium Caliber Ammunition (SMCA).

Your Mission

The Vice President Operations Improvements at the business unit level is responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing efficiency, and improving the overall performance of the organization's manufacturing and operational processes. Furthermore, the VP of Operations Improvements leads initiatives focused on continuous improvement, cost reduction, process optimization, and lean methodologies to ensure that operations meet the company’s strategic goals, maintain high levels of productivity, and deliver consistent quality. The VP Operations Improvements works cross-functionally with production, supply chain, engineering, and quality teams to implement best practices, optimize processes, and drive performance improvements across all aspects of the company’s operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Operational efficiency and process improvements
  • Performance measurement and reporting
  • Strategic planning and execution
  • Cost reduction and profitability enhancement
  • Quality and compliance management
  • Leadership and change management

In this role, you will collaborate with all SMCA sites, Corporate and other business unit operations teams. You are expected to be available on site when required. You can be based at any of our SMCA sites in Norway, Sweden or Finland or your home office. The position reports to EVP SMCA with a dotted line to SVP Operational Excellence.

Key Qualifications

Our candidate meets the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required), MBA or Master’s degree (preferred)
  • 10–15+ years in operations, with 5–7+ in senior leadership roles
  • Experience managing multi-site operations in a matrix organization
  • Expertise in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets
  • Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards relevant to the industry

As a person, you possess exceptional problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset. You have strong communication and negotiation abilities along with the resilience to lead during crises and manage risks under pressure. You thrive in a fast-paced environment.
